Floortje Dessing travels to Nepal for the special story of 28-year-old American Maggie Doyne. Ten years ago she ended up as a backpacker in a valley at the foot of the Himalayas. Touched by the plight of a little girl, she decided to stay to help the children in this very poor region. With her savings she built a small orphanage, where she took in more and more children for shelter and education. Kopila Valley now has a large house, a school and a small clinic and Maggie is the legal guardian of 51 children with her BlinkNow foundation.
