For 19 seasons, 3 op Reis has been the leading travel program on Dutch national television. Every Sunday evening, our hosts travel the world in search of compelling stories that move you and make you see the world in a different way.
Our travel reports are daring, adventurous and independent. They inspire you to go beyond the well-traveled paths and well-known places. We show you that travelers with a sustainable, conscious and open-minded attitude can bring a positive change to this world.
Our hosts represent that open-minded attitude. Chris showed us the off-the-beaten-track islands of Palawan in the Philippines. Nienke took us sea-trekking in Greece and Jurre showed us the vibrant life of the people in Brazil. Sahil immersed himself into the Irish identity and visited Dublin, Cork, the rugged coastline and Belfast in Northern Ireland.
But foremost, we continue to show how you can make far-away journeys closer to home. Our new hosts Raïsha and Max took us to beautiful places in and around Europe. Raïsha took us on an amazing train trip through Europe and showed us the magnificent Scottish isles. Max showed us the place where his father grew up in Italy and showed us how Sweden celebrates Midsommar.
Nearby or far away; this season 3 op Reis shows you how travel adventures are within reach for everyone, and how together we can make a big impact by traveling more consciously.
We are currently preparing our next season, which will air on Dutch television in September 2026.

Let us introduce our current hosts:
Chris is definitely a travel legend on Dutch national television: he started his career presenting various travel shows since 2001. In 2012, he joined 3 op Reis and was one of our main presenters until 2025. From the silver mines in Bolivia to the jungles in Malaysia, from the Mediterranean coasts of Italy to the heartland of Patagonia: Chris has seen the most beautiful places around the world. But he is always eager to discover new frontiers and meet new people, as those special encounters are what he values most about traveling.

Nienke traveled the world for 3 op Reis from 2016 up until 2025. Where everybody turns left, she turns the other way, seeing beauty in overlooked places and finding intriguing stories in unknown destinations. She experienced Tanzania through its people and traditions, crossed India by train and traveled to the end of the world in Greenland. She explored the diversity of the people of Uzbekistan, went off the beaten track in Italy and made a road trip from Gambia to Senegal. As for Nienke, the world is a place of endless stories, and her travels will continue!

Jurre joined the 3 op Reis team in 2022. Ever since, he took us to the less frequently visited Greek west coast and drove an electric van from his home in Amsterdam to Denmark. Wherever he goes, he always knows how to best put a culture trip on display, whether he submerses himself into Japanese culture and the K-wave during a trip to Japan and South Korea or into the lively, energetic spirit of Brazil.

Sahil first embarked for 3 op Reis Backpack as a guest vlogger in 2015 and he joined us again in 2017 in another subseries 3 op Reis Midweek. In 2022, he joined as one of the main hosts and showed us off-the-beaten track destination Moldova. From 2024 onward he has taken us to Marseille in France, and to the Star Wars filming locations in Tunesia. On top of that, he showed us the youngest people of Europe in Kosovo, took us to the untouched grounds of Kyrgyzstan and to the hubs of the cultural renaissance of Ireland.

Raïsha wants to take people along to new destinations and lesser-known places. Presenting 3 op Reis is a dream come true. Driven by her love of nature and her curiosity for the unknown, she set out in search of unexpected encounters and meaningful stories that inspire viewers to see the world, and one another, through fresh eyes. Her first episode aired in 2023, when she visited Paris. Last season, she officially joined our team and took us on a train trip through Europe and showed us the Scottish Hebrides.

As someone who is afraid of flying and not a fan of boats, he thought he’d be unfit to host 3 op Reis. But after overcoming his fears and embarking on his first journey for the show, he's found out that it’s a joy and incredibly educational to do. For him, traveling isn’t just about seeing places, but about the people you meet and the stories you carry with you. And in Sweden and Italy, where he celebrated Midsommar and went to search for relatives in a small town in Sardegna where his father was born, those stories were everywhere.
