%%%%

I can't get the Pacific Fighters STand alone game properly installed on my PC (Laptop..with sufficient requirements). After some 70% of disk one installed (busy with fb_maps07p.SFS) I hear the disc drive slowing down and the error message appears:"error 1305 reading from file fb_maps07p.SFS..verify that the file exists".I can try the "retry/ignore" button, and it continues until 100% but then the same message appears. But then I can only "cancel" the installation, and all is removed from the harddisk.Browsing over google I found many more users with this problem (other games too) and for each one there is a different solution proposed. Most of which I have already checked:1) dirty disc (clean and /or replace at the store)2) fix RAM more securely to the motherboard (as if that could spontaneously get loose..)3) upgrade videocard driver (..done)4) delete all loose files in the TEMP directory (no effect).5) Format the harddrive and reinstall WinXP (obviously I haven't done that ... the error is subtle, and so should be the solution). Now, INTERESTINGLY I tried to install this game on someone else's laptop with LESS DRAM and operating GHZ and there the INSTALLATION went ok !! (also winXP).(but because the capacity of this laptop is too little it cannot be played). The CRUCIAL difference was that here, after 50% of downloading from disc 1 it holds and asks for disc 2. I exchanged and aFter which the installed *.SFS files get unpacked immediately. So SOMEHOW on MY PC this TRIGGER to ask for disc 2 doesn't work.CAN you PLEASE help me with this one?(Note that I already had telephoned a ubisoft center in my country at the cost of almost a USdollar PER MINUTE and they only gave suggestion number 4. Obviously I have no confidence in them).worthwhile info:I think I had Il-2 installed and UNinstalled a year ago. So maybe there are some traces left of it in the hidden parts of windows XP ?

and oh another suggestion was:6) Copy all *.sfs files of the discs to your harddisc and try to unzip/install it from there. This didnot work as this fb_maps07p.sfs file couldnot get copied. Some reading error, or not allowed window came up.
